Kolarik is new Boone River Watershed project coordinator

“Bruce’s shoes are large ones to fill,” Jordan Kolarik, the new project coordinator for the Boone River Watershed project” said lightheartedly about her new position.

Kolarik, originally from Iowa City, said she is grateful to have worked part-time with Bruce Voigts, the Boone River Watershed project’s previous coordinator, before he retired at the start of the year.

“He was so engaged in the community... reaching out to new people and new partnerships,” she added.

Kolarik is excited to now take over the position full-time. She has spent the last year-and-a-half splitting her time between the Boone River Watershed project with Voigts in the Wright County area, and the Prairie Creek Watershed project, which covers more of the Kossuth County area. “I’m really excited to get to know (the Wright County) community as well as I do the Prairie Creek community,” she said.
