Iowa Ambassadors of Music

Lindsay Davis and Gage Behnkendorf, both seniors at Eagle Grove High School, already know what their passion in life is and what they both hope to pursue after graduating next May - music. That is why they each feel very fortunate to have taken the trip of a lifetime this past July. Davis, a clarinet player, and Behnkendorf, a french horn player, were invited to travel to Europe for 16 days, touring and performing in nine different countries with some of the top Iowa high school band members as part of the Iowa Ambassadors of Music. They were nominated for the instrumental group by their high school band director, Justin Schwake. There was also a vocal group of Ambassadors that went as part of their trip.

Before their trip overseas could become a reality, there was a lot of work to be done. First and foremost was fundraising. A Go Fund Me account was set up by each of them, and was received very well by the public.

“I want to say a huge thank you to all of my sponsors. I’ll never forget the opportunity I had. I couldn’t have done it without you,” said Davis graciously.
