Houser receives award

The Eagle Grove Eagle’s very own sports editor, Les Houser, was one of three people honored at halftime of the Class 3A championship game held November 16 with a News Media Award. It is presented annually by the IHSAA Board of Control to honor members of the media who have contributed significantly to the success of the Iowa High School interscholastic program. They are each nominated by a member school for their positive coverage of local high school events, which is enjoyed and appreciated by area student-athletes, their families and school/community supporters. He is joined at the presentation by his niece April Wilker, great niece Ashlyn Wilker and great nephew Tanner Wilker, all of West Union, Iowa. Houser is in his 14th year of covering sports for both the Wright County Monitor and the Eagle Grove Eagle.
