Home of the Eagles

If you haven’t been to the Eagle Grove Elementary in the last couple of weeks, you need to take a moment to drive by and check out their new front door display.

As you approach the building, you can’t miss the two huge majestic birds that let you know you are entering the “Home of the Eagles.” Whether you’re coming as a student, a parent, or a visiting sports team/ spectator, you will instantly feel this town’s Eagle Nation pride.

According to Eagle Grove Elementary Principal Joe Erickson, the project was spearheaded by three elementary teachers - Joe Chamberlin, Jen Conaway, and Stacy Osborn. In addition to the door decals, there are also new strips that have been added to the front stairways, with more to hopefully follow soon if all goes according to plan.

“I’m so glad (the front door decals) were finished before graduation,” said Erickson. “When we started, it was simply an idea about driving the environment and culture of the building. In the past few years the teachers have added colors of paint to the hallways which changed the feel of the building. They came in on their own time to do this during the summer and weren’t paid for it. Stacy, Jen, and Joe took it to the next level with adding the images on the front doors.”
