Historic Downtown Tour June 15

Local historian and lifelong Eagle Grove resident Ron Mohr has announced he will once again be leading a Summerfest Historic Downtown Tour on Saturday, June 15, 2019.

The walking tour will begin at 10 a.m. at the Eagle Grove Historical Museum and is free of charge. Mohr will lead you down three blocks of Broadway, going down one side of the street and then up the other, pointing out interesting details of buildings and who has owned them and what businesses once existed there before they became what they are today. Mohr said they will also go inside the businesses that are open for an even more detailed look.

“We will also take time to pause at the Eagle Grove War Memorial,” said Mohr about giving people time to really look at the monument and the names of our community members whose appear on it.

Mohr has been honored to give this tour for several years during Summerfest, sharing his love and passion of our local history. If you’ve never been on it before, what are you waiting for? If you have been, why not go again and learn even more? This is your chance to relive the past or maybe introduce your children to those who came before them, making our great community what it is today.
