Head Start purchases EG building - anticipates Aug. 2019 opening

Your Own United Resources, Inc. has announced that they have purchased the former Eagle Grove Chamber of Commerce building located on the corner of North Iowa and NW 1st St (the former Eagle Grove Chamber location) with plans to open a Head Start program for children ages three to five years old.

According to Michelle Carden, a representative of Your Own United Resources, Inc, the agency serves four counties - Hamilton, Humboldt, Webster and Wright, with already established in-home based programs for the 0 - 3 year old Early Head Start program in all counties, working in partnership with Public Health in Wright, Hamilton and Humboldt counties.

Unfortunately, however, the 3 - 5 year old Head Start program was only currently serving families in Hamilton, Humboldt, and Webster counties - not Wright County. Due to some funding issues, the center-based preschool in Eagle Grove was changed a few years back into a home-based program for 3 year olds in partnership with Wright County Public Health.
