Hadleys named 2019 Wright County Fair Parade Grand Marshals

Kevin and Betty Hadley of rural Rowan have been named the 2019 Wright County Fair Parade Grand Marshals. Although they are very humbled, they are excited to be able to commemorate each of their long histories in 4-H/FFA and their involvement with the Wright County Fair over the last several decades.

One could say that having a father who served as a 4-H leader before he was even born kind of predestined Kevin to grow up participating in, and loving, the Wright County Fair.

As a child, Kevin joined his father’s 4-H Club (although he retired from the position before Kevin graduated) as well as the local FFA Chapter. Being involved with these two groups gave him the opportunity to show dairy cattle and sheep at the Wright County Fair each year. Kevin also entered exhibit items into judging and even once did a demonstration on old antique engines. These are only a couple of the projects he did that still stick out in his mind to this day.

His wife, Betty, grew up a member of a Hancock County 4-H Club. While she didn’t show any animals, she was active in a large variety of static exhibits including categories in clothing, sewing, baking, and more.
