Goldfield Women’s Club fundraising to update playground equipment at Old School Park

If you grew up in or around the Goldfield area, chances are you have played once or twice at the Old School Park located on Main Street. The playground equipment there has seen a lot of love from children over the years and holds fond memories of days-gone-by for many. But there comes a time when the old must be replaced with the new, and that time is now.

Current-day Goldfield Women’s Club President, Sonna Johnson, recalls that the first piece of equipment in the park was the horse swings. Numerous soup and pie sales, as well as a Betterment contest win (promoted by Governor Ray) helped to add new pieces over time.
