Georgiana Bruhl

Georgiana Mae (Loux) Bruhl, the daughter of Celestin and Maude (Legge) Loux, was born on February 25, 1927, on the family farm in Wright County, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1944.

On February 27, 1949, Georgiana was united in marriage with Glenn Bruhl in the Chapel of the United Methodist Church in Clarion. The couple made their home and farmed in the Klemme area for 11 years and moved to Wright County in 1961. Georgiana worked for many years as a cook at Rotary Ann Nursing Home, retiring in the 1990’s.

Georgiana was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Ruth Circle, Friends of the ban de La Roche and White Shrine (Worthy High Priestess).

Georgiana always enjoyed going fishing with Glenn, knitting/crocheting (she made the best dish cloths), bird watching and many years ago, she enjoyed playing golf.

Georgiana passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, at the age of 93 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; brothers, Celestin and Richard Loux; infant sister, Mary and sister, Bertha Kurfman and grandson, Anthony Bruhl.

Georgiana is survived by four children: Elwyn Bruhl and wife Mary of Twin Lakes, Diana Thompson and husband Roger of Ames, Cecil Bruhl and wife Sheila of Eagle Grove and John Bruhl of Tok, Alaska; five grandchildren: Bradley, Beth, Angela, Janine and Nathan; four step grandchildren: Amy, Angie, Bobbie and Heidi; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Virgil Hart of Mason City, Connie Salyer of Cedar Rapids and Pat Malaise of Eagle Grove and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, with Pastor Mark Peterson of Gateway Hospice officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., with memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. Please practice social distancing and waring masks is encouraged. Burial will follow immediately at the French Church Cemetery, rural Woolstock.
