Former teacher will serve as 2017 Parade Grand Marshal

Carol Helmke is more than just an Eagle fan, she’s a fan of each and every student, the staff members, the teachers, the coaches...and that’s why she feels so honored to be serving as this year’s Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal.

Helmke is a 1966 graduate of Goldfield High School. In 1968, she was amongt the first graduating class ever of Iowa Central Community College in Eagle Grove. She later graduated from TCU and earned a Master from Drake.

With the exeption of 1-1/2 years she spent teaching in Texas, Helmke is proud to say she spent the rest of her career teaching English and Reading at Eagle Grove High School.
