A forgotten treasure quadruples in value

Nearly 40 years ago, Goldfield was looking for a name for their new park. To build excitement, they decided to make a competition out of it, awarding a $25 savings bond to the winner.

Jim Toillion, Jr. thought there was no better name for it than “Old School Park,” after all, it was being built where the old Goldfield School once stood before being torn down.

“My family thought I was crazy for suggesting that name,” Jim joked. But he submitted it anyway.
