Field trip to Fishpond Park offers lots to do

As the school year comes to a close each year, kids get antsy as they count down the days to summer, but the teachers still have to make learning a priority. To accomplish fun for the kids and learning for the teachers, second graders every year head out to Fishpond Park where they can do both.

On Wednesday, May 30, the kids and their teachers from Eagle Grove Elementary loaded onto buses and headed across town to Fishpond Park where they met up with Wright County Naturalist Jeremiah Feltz and a few parent volunteers.

With their help, the second graders learned how to put a worm on a hook, how to cast a fishing line, and, if they were lucky, how to reel in a fish.
