Fall Senior Recognition Night

What started off as a desire to recognize the members of the Eagle Grove High School football team - especially the seniors, quickly turned into a way to celebrate all of the fall athletes at EGHS.

After the football season ended early during the EGHS Homecoming game due to injuries of the upper classmen, the school district decided they needed to do something special to recognize the team who never got the chance to enjoy Parent Night for the seniors. As talks started as to what could be done, it was decided that the cheerleaders, the Golden Stars Drill team, and the Eagle Marching Band, who also perform during football games deserved their recognition as well. That’s when they decided to honor all of the fall athletes along with the seniors and their parents. Even the middle school athletes were recognized - not by individual name like the high school, but at least as a large group to get a look at our future of athletics.

The event was held Friday, Oct. 19 at the high school football field. In addition to teams mentioned above, the boys’ and girls’ cross country team, and the volleyball players were introduced either before the game or during halftime of a parents versus football players flag football game.
