Elizabeth Hill Trust fund contributes to Career Academy in EG

The Elizabeth Hill Trust Fund has been helping students in pursuit of their academic education for years.  Thousands of dollars in scholarships have been given out to Eagle Grove students as they pursue post-high school learning.  Now, it will also benefit juniors and seniors thinking ahead to their future while still in high school.

When it was announced that the Career Academy, part of Iowa Central Community College, would be coming to Eagle Grove, the trustees of the fund wondered if they could somehow get involved.  Colleen Bartlett, Bill Long, and Cal Tschetter (the trustees) met with Eagle Grove Schools Superintendent Jess Toliver and asked what they could do to help.  His suggestion was to help fund some of the seats that the school district had committed to (25) in order to bring the Academy to Eagle Grove.  The trustees agreed it was a great idea.  The Elizabeth Hill Trust Fund has committed to $21,600 over the next three years, buying seats in support of  Eagle Grove students wishing to take advantage of the courses offered by the Career Academy.

“It gives us an opportunity to help more students...education is the priority of the Elizabeth Hill Trust Fund,” said Bartlett.
