EGHS students make blankets for babies

When Karen Farrell heard that Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion was in need of baby blankets to give their newborns, she knew immediately that her class at Eagle Grove High School could help.

Farrell is the Study Skills teacher, and she is always up for a new and exciting way to connect with her kids. Of course there is “regular” classroom work that is done, but a project like making blankets can go a long ways in teaching some old subjects in a new way - like math, problem solving skills, patience, and following instructions, for example.

Farrell went to the store and purchased enough polar fleece material to make 30 blankets between 25 kids.
