EG Elementary Principal resigns

As the final bell of the school year rings, the students will be saying “so long” to classrooms, homework...and for Eagle Grove Elementary students, to their principal, Joe Erickson.

Erickson came to the Eagle Grove Area School District four years ago, excited to join the team of teachers and students who were already doing some great things. Since that time, he has seen many other great things and is happy to have been a part of it all.

“I have benefited, learning from leaders and will take these lessons with me. Our school board has been supportive, active in preparing for upcoming challenges, and represented the district well,” he said in his resignation letter. “The district wide staff do phenomenally well in coordinating services for all students in the district.”

June 30, 2018 will be Erickson’s last day with the Eagle Grove Area School District. Upon completion of his employment, he will take over as the superintendent at North Iowa Community School District.
