Eagles lose to Lake Mills 73-37

The Eagle Grove boys varsity basketball team hosted Lake Mills last Tuesday, suffering a 73-37 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. Lake Mills had the lead at 45-21 at the break.

Spencer Espejo led the team in scoring with 13 points, which included two buckets from downtown. Ryan Smith scored seven points with one trey, Colin Omvig five points, Brian Gonzalez four points and Brett Maier three points on one basket from beyond the arc. Nico Padilla came in to hit a three-pointer as well, and Chase Blasi finished the scoring column with two points. Padilla led the team in rebounding with five boards, followed by Blasi with three. Espejo, Colton Pickering and Austin Hill all got their mitts on two caroms apiece, while Smith, Maier, Gonzalez, Omvig and Sam Johnson all had one rebound each on their stat line.
