Eagles lose in district play to Cowboys

The season came to an end last Thursday in Jewell for the Eagle basketball team in an 83-53 loss to Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in district play. Spencer Espejo and Ryan Smith both finished with 15 points each, while Austin Hill managed six points. Niko Padilla dropped in five points, John Mosley four points, Nick Halverson and Logan Hansen three points each and Chase Blasi two points.

Espejo, Smith and Hill all grabbed seven rebounds each to share equally in board work, with Blasi getting six and both Padilla and Mosley five each. Halverson and Hansen had three each and Ben Nessa two. Espejo dished off for three assists, with Halverson making two and Padilla, Smith and Mosley all one each. Smith had two steals, with Espejo and Padilla making one theft each.
