Eagles have rough week, lose to Humboldt, L. Mills

Last Monday night in a home game, the Eagle Grove Eagles were never really in an 80-15 loss to visiting Humboldt of the North Central Conference. The Wildcats went up 51- 12 by the half and never looked back. Thomas Matthes scored six points, Chase Mason four points, Jake Darland three points and Ben Olson two points. Darland also cleaned the glass for five rebounds, with Mason and Matthes both at three each and Austin Purcell two. Olson and Tyler Hansen grabbed one carom each. Burns and Desmond Weber had both an assist each and a steal each.

“We were outmanned in this game,” stated head coach Ryan Pedersen. “Humboldt came in and took care of business right from the start. They were more physical and worked a fast paced game. Our energy was low, and the Wildcats did a great job of jumping on us. It also helps that they made more three-point baskets in this game than they had all season. We need to prepare better for the opening tip.”
