Eagle wrestlers return from State AAU with one medalist

According to coach Aaron Schafer, it was a tough field of teams that the young Eagle wrestlers faced at the recent State AAU Tournament. Qualifiers making the trip were Tucker Taylor, Kylar Severson, Ethan Schreiber, Jackson Babcock, Drake Sisneros, Hayden Schafer, Jaymie Anderson, Reece Demuth, James Harle, Mack Morgan, Brett Ascherl, Jakob Jeske and Lilly Locke. 

“Jaymie (girls tournament) was the only wrestler that placed, but it’s a very tough tournament,” stated coach Schafer. “It is the best of the best in Iowa with all classes in one bracket. We wrestled hard, and had several wins, but came up short. I’m very proud of how hard they competed and the growth they made this season as wrestlers. It was one of those tournaments were we just came out on the wrong side of every tight match. We are excited to see what the future holds for these young Eagles!”
