Eagle volleyball wins their first match of season on Saturday

Last Saturday at the Cowgirl Invitational in Clarion, the Eagle Grove volleyball team pulled out their first win of the year versus Belmond-Klemme, defeating the Broncos by set scores of 21-14 and 21-11.

Team serving was right at 80 percent, with Tori Huntley going 9 of 10 (2 aces) and Laine Morgan 8 of 9 (one). Crail was 6 of 10 (2), Hannah Huntley 5 of 5 (2) and Hannah Beecher 3 of 4. Morgan set for four assists, with Crail pounding four kills.

Beecher and Hannah Huntley made two kills each. Cail led in digs with five, followed by Hannah Huntley with three, Brittney Osborn and Beecher with two each and Morgan with one.

In other action that day, they lost in two straight sets to five other teams. The host Cowgirls won over the Eagles by set scores of 21-5, 21-9. Crail went 4 of 4 (one), while Morgan had three assists. Beecher had three kills, and joined Crail in making two digs apiece.
