Eagle teams back in action starting this week

By the time you read this the holiday break will be over as the Eagle Grove teams all get back into action in the new year. The basketball teams will host Garner-Hayfield/Ventura this Friday, then will welcome in West Bend-Mallard next Monday for the annual ‘Coaches vs. Cancer’ event. The following night finds them traveling to North Union to take on the Warriors.

The girls will be seeking their first win of the year, going into 2020 with a 0-7 record. Lea Friedl leads a tight scoring average column at 6.9 ppg, followed closely by Kaitlin Sampson at 5.7 ppg and Ariane Lyman at 5.6 ppg. Hannah Sampson leads in field goal percentage (in at least 25 attempts) at 42.6 percent, with Kaitlin at 33.3 percent in three pointers and 80 percent from the line. Gump leads in rebounds with 34 and Hannah Sampson in steals with 12 so far.
