Eagle softball team scores wins over Cardinals, Bison

The Eagle Grove varsity enjoyed another good week at the plate, starting with an 18-7 win at Garner-Hayfield/Ventura in six innings on Monday, June 5th. The Eagles did damage in all but two innings, scoring three in the first and two more in the second. They followed that with a four-run fourth, a three-run fifth and a nice sixrun sixth.

For the game, Beecher swung a strong stick in going 4 for 4 with two RBI and four runs scored. Morgan was 3 for 4 with two RBI and four runs scored. Eisentrager was 3 for 5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Jeske was 2 for 4, including a double, and had four RBI. Schultz was 2 for 2 and crossed the plate three times.

Also getting base hits were Crail, Gump, Stuhr, Wilson and Emmy Huse. Crail finished with two RBI, with Sydney Willard and Huse credited with one RBI each. Stuhr and Wilson crossed the dish twice each, with Gump scoring one run. Morgan stole two bags, with Beecher swiping one. Morgan, Beecher, Jeske, Gump, Stuhr and Wilson all drew one free pass to first each. Wilson earned the win in the circle, allowing just three earned runs while striking out six batters.
