EAGLE SOFTBALL TEAM GETS FIRST WIN OF SEASON

The Eagle Grove softball team finally put it all together last Friday in a home game with Lake Mills, racking up plenty of offense on 12 hits in a 19-7 win over the Bulldogs in four innings.

Sadie Stuhr went 2 for 2 with a double, four RBI and three runs scored. Laine Morgan was 2 for 4 with four RBI and two runs scored. Kenzie Crail was 2 for 4 with three RBI and one run scored. Hannah Beecher went 2 for 3 with an RBI and crossed the dish for three runs.

Emmy Huse had one base hit, one RBI and crossed the dish twice. Jozey Gump went 2 for 2 with two RBI and a run scored. Hannah Sampson added a base hit.

Kaitlin Sampson crossed the plate three times, with Cali Schultz scoring two runs and both Maura Beecher and Ari Lyman one each as courtesy runners. Marisa Beecher had an RBI as a pinch hitter.

Kaitlin showed her speed on the base paths in making three steals. Schultz had two, with H. Beecher, Morgan and Gump all getting one each. Schultz, K. Sampson and Huse all showed a good eye at the plate in drawing two walks apiece, with H.

Beecher and Maura Beecher both getting one free pass each. H. Beecher got the win in the circle, pitching all the way and allowing seven earned runs on six hits with six walks and three strikeouts.
