Eagle softball team’s final stats, all-conference picks given

The final overall stats have now been released for the Eagle Grove softball team for this past season, along with the Top of Iowa-West all-conference selections and the team award winners. The team ended the year with a 15-13 overall record and a 10-6 mark in the division. State qualifier North Union finished 16-0, followed by Bishop Garrigan at 12-3 and the Eagles tied with Lake Mills at 10-6. The team had six players chosen in league balloting. Jarika Eisentrager (Sr.), Hannah Beecher (So.) and Laine Morgan (So.) all received a spot on the 1st Team (Beecher’s second year in a row), with Sarah Wilson (Sr.) and Hallie Jeske (Jr.) getting nods to the 2nd Team. Shelby Axtell was named as an Honorable Mention choice. In addition, Morgan was also recently named to the 2A All-District Team.

As a team, the Eagles had 760 at-bats in all games to produce 217 runs on 256 hits. Among those were 44 doubles, six triples and six homeruns. A total of 180 RBI were produced. There were 24 sac fly’s, 86 walks taken, 23 players hit by pitch and 108 steals in 120 attempts. The collective team batting average was .337, with a .434 slugging percentage.
