Eagle softball season ends in tough 7-6 loss

Even though the Eagle Grove varsity softball team had a decent night offensively, it still wasn’t quite enough in the end to keep their season going in regional play. They dropped a 7-6 first-round game to Lake Mills, after taking a 5-3 lead into the top of the sixth where they surrendered four runs to the Bulldogs.

“It started the way we wanted it, as we came out and got on the board first,” stated head coach Jim McLaughlin. In that inning, Hannah Beecher smacked a double with Laine Morgan then bringing her home.
