Eagle softball has rough week, pull out one victory

Last Tuesday, the Eagle Grove varsity softball team traveled to South Central Calhoun and handed the home Titans a 10-0 loss in five innings. The visitors plated four runs in their half of the first inning, and four more in the fifth frame to end it early.

Laine Morgan swung the big stick in this win, going 2 of 3 with two RBI. McKenzie Crail doubled for her lone connection and drove in a run. Hannah Beecher and Raechel Spangler both singled and drove in a run each, with Aja Bell also making a base hit. Shelby Axtell crossed the dish to the tune of three runs, with Bell and Desi Shivers both scoring twice apiece. Hallie Jeske, Spangler and Jana Willard all came home once each. Both Morgan and Bell stole a bag, while Morgan, Jeske, Willard and Axtell all drew a walk each.

Sarah Wilson earned the win in the circle, allowing only three Titan hits with no walks and one strikeout.
