Eagle softball on four game winning streak

The Eagle Grove softball team continues to play their best ball now as regionals begin this week (by the time you read this). They will also ride a fourgame win streak following a 9-2 win last Friday at South Central Calhoun.

Cali Schultz ripped a double in the first inning and later scored the first run. In the third, Schultz again led with a single followed by Laine Morgan blasting a two-bagger of her own. Two batters later, Kenzie Crail delivered the third double of the night to bring home Schultz. Morgan came in courtesy of Marisa Beecher, with Crail also crossing. Lea Friedl scored in the fourth, while in the sixth it was Morgan again displaying her power in rocketing a triple right off center as both her and Friedl crossed. In the seventh, Hannah and Marisa Beecher both came home with Hannah and Cali Schultz collecting an RBI each.

For the night, Morgan went 3 for 5 with a double, triple and two runs scored. Schultz went 3 for 5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored. H. Beecher and Crail both doubled in their only contact and both collected an RBI apiece. Jozey Gump had a base hit, Marisa an RBI and Friedl two runs scored.

H. Beecher earned the win in the circle, going the distance in allowing just two earned runs on five hits with five walks and three K’s.
