Eagle Grove Summerfest

Summerfest 2017: Scarlett Dobbs and her mom, Trudee, celebrate the strike she just threw while street bowling.

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, look no further than right here in Eagle Grove. The annual Summerfest event is returning even bigger and better with more for the whole family to enjoy.

This year, the fun begins Friday evening. Bring the whole family out and Chalk the Walk on Broadway from the corner of Hwy 17 to Gazebo Park. This is a chance to show off your artistic talents, chalking a beautiful masterpiece for everyone to enjoy throughout the Summerfest event. Supplies will be provided during this time. If you can’t make it then, feel free to chalk anytime that day, but you will need to bring you own supplies.

After you’ve finished, head out to the fairgrounds for an outdoor movie. Security Savings Bank is sponsoring “The Emoji Movie” which will be shown in the fairgrounds Show Arena. It’s free. Bring a blanket, a friend, and enjoy a few snacks and a movie surrounded by the stars.

More fun Summerfest activities start bright and early on Saturday, June 16 with a 5k Walk/Run. Starting line is at 120 N. Lucas at 7:30 a.m. More activities begin at 8 a.m. with a variety of events including a free-will community breakfast, free stage performances featuring local talent, and a special visit from Paw Patrol’s Marshal escorted by Victor E. Eagle.
