PRESS RELEASE

7-17- 16 – 5:15PM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Eagle Grove continues their recovery process from the early Sunday morning storms.

City and county officials have been in communication with the State Homeland Security and Emergency Management Department. Residents are reminded to refrain from taking tree debris to the compost site. Debris should be placed at curb side and pick up arrangements are being coordinated through the Eagle Grove Public Works Department.

The city has experienced a loss of water and a boil advisory is currently in place. No known contamination has occurred but as a precaution due to the loss of water pressure the city will be completing two rounds of water testing to insure the water is safe to drink. Residents will be notified by their local media and CodeRed.

Crews continue work to open roadways and Mid American Energy hopes to have power restored by early Monday.

Residents are asked to refrain from driving through the city streets after dark as there may still be power lines and debris in the roadways.
