Eagle Grove parks go nicotine-free

Imagine it’s a beautiful sunny day - the perfect day to take the family to the park. The thought of being outside, soaking up a little sun (with sunblock on, of course), and getting a little exercise makes you feel like you’re doing something that’s not only good quality time, but good for your body as well. Now, a day in Eagle Grove parks are about to get even healthier.

Fawn Roberts, an RN with the Wright County Health Department, is proud to announce that Eagle Grove is the first community in Wright County to adopt a nicotine-free parks environment. In fact, the only other communities to adopt the same policy are Badger and Dayton.

“It helps to reinforce the purpose of parks - to enjoy fresh air, where people can be active and relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature,” said Roberts.
