Eagle Grove man charged with assault

At 3:58 pm on Wednesday July 23rd, the Eagle Grove Police Department and Wright County Sheriff’s responded to a call of a female being shot in the 400 block of NE 3^rd St. in Eagle Grove.

Deanna Arredondo, 29, of Eagle Grove, received injuries to her face and head as a result of being shot with a CO2 powered BB gun pistol.  She was transported to Iowa Specialty Hospital- Clarion for treatment and was held for observation.

Eric Jason Bell, 39, of Eagle Grove, allegedly shot Ms. Arredondo with the pistol during an argument in front of Mr. Bell’s home.  He has been charged with Assault with A Deadly Weapon, Willful Injury, and Going Armed with Intent.  He is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Wright County Jail, in Clarion.

The Algona Police Department K-9 and the Iowa Fire Marshall’s Office also assisted in the investigation.
