Eagle Grove Hotel will be privately owned Looking for more investors

With each passing day, the Eagle Grove Hotel Committee is making progress towards the start of construction on the new Hotel and Convention Center that is slated to go up on the south side of town along Highway 17.

“We’ve raised close to half of the funds needed for the project,” said committee member Mickey Cooper.

After several meetings with potential investors, Cooper said some adjustments have been made to the original plan. For example, instead of a 40-room hotel, it will be a 32-room facility. It will also not have a swimming pool.

“We are making sure it has a successful fill-rate,” said Cooper of the decision to downsize.

She added that to this point the committee has been very pleased with the response of potential investors, and encourages those who have been thinking about the opportunity to take a look at their business plan as some shares still remain of the total 48. You can get that business plan from Cooper, or you can find it at eaglegrove.com.

The two-story hotel will be built in three phases:

1. The 32-room hotel

2. The Event Center which will seat 250-300 people.

“We feel like the Event Center will be a huge attraction for people staying in the hotel,” said Cooper.

3. The addition of a pool. However, the committee does feel like the Wellness Center and the Aquatic Center have this area covered, but they will revisit the option at a later date.
