Eagle Grove growth continues with opening of Rails Depot Event Center

John and Sandy McGrath took over the ownership of Rails Bar and Grill in October of 2012. Both the children of local business owners (John’s family was three generations of lawyers while Sandy’s dad Don Garrett owned Garrett Agency and her step-dad Del Kramersmeier owned the drug store), they were excited to follow in their family’s footsteps in providing a service to the Eagle Grove area community. They gradually began upgrading the equipment, and in the fall of 2014, they remodeled the bathrooms, the patio, and the dart area.

“At that time, we realized we still did not fill the gap that we felt the community needed...an event center,” said Sandy.

They thought about their options for a couple of years, and finally this past November (2016), they decided to take a leap of faith and add on to their establishment.
