Don Deuel presented an update on the Memorial Hall renovation project at this past Monday’s meeting of the Eagle Grove City Council. Now that the City has recommitted funds to the project, the list of items that will be included was presented at the meeting. Those include the kitchen (only for serving), halfbath off the kitchen, furnace room, back entrance, hallway, front room, coat room, bathrooms and the front entry hall along with some exterior improvements. The plans for an ADA compliant bathroom, and possible handicapped entrance ramp, have been put on hold for the time being. Schlofeldt Engineering will now be contacted to adjust the bid documents and seek bids on the project.

Dessa Comstock and Rick McPherson appeared before the Council regarding an incident involving Rick’s dog and a dog owned by Mike Throntveit. A police report, filed by responding officer Garrett Quintus, included a statement from Throntveit that when he was walking his dog home and got to the corner of Southwest Second and South Lucas, that McPherson’s dog came across the yard unleashed and attacked his dog causing injuries.
