Eagle boys track & field goes to ISU

The Eagle Grove boys track & field team traveled to Ames last Tuesday for the Iowa State boys high school indoor classic at the Lied Athletic Rec Center.

Highlights included Spencer Espejo at 67th out of 100 entries at 11:27.60 in the 3200. Mark Dawson was 66th in 10.65, and Tomas Rolon 72nd in 11.10, in the 60-meter hurdles. Jon Koester finished at 93rd out of 118 runners in 5:32.62 in the 1600. Jacob Arbaugh crossed in 5:44.69 for 102nd in the same event.

Evan Anderson took 106th out of 143 entries in the 60-meter dash with a 7.99. Moe Friedl was 115th in 8.08 in the same event. The 4x4 entry was 41st of 44 in 4:09.48, the 4x8 52nd of 61 in 9:52.48 and the sprint med 63rd of 70 in 4:26.60. Friedl was 62nd out of 76 with a 15’ 5.5’ best mark in the long jump. Gabe Rolon took 71st at 13’ 7.5” in that event. Joel Mendoza was 30th of 101 shot throwers with 41’ 2.0”. Jacob Rosa was 67th with 35’ 11.5” in the same event.
