Eagle boys have rough final game of year vs. Cardinals

The Garner-Hayfield/Ventura boys basketball team set the tone for the night early, taking an 18-2 lead after one quarter and stretching it to a 49-21 halftime bulge. Any thoughts of a comeback for the Eagles were dashed throughout the second half, as the Card’s outscored them 27 points to 10 for a loss that spoiled their final game of 2017. The Thursday home contest with West Bend-Mallard has been postponed to January 25th.

“We did not come out and play the way we wanted,” stated head coach Ryan Pedersen. “We basically let them do whatever they wanted. We wanted to attack their big guys, and we didn’t start doing that until the second quarter after being already down by 20 points.”
