Council will commit funds to renovate Memorial Hall

Following a review of the results of the poll conducted to gauge the opinions of residents, and after lengthy discussion, the Eagle Grove City Council decided to put the proposed Events Center project on the back burner and turn their attention back towards some renovations at Memorial Hall.

The results of the poll (see separate box with this story) were shared by City Administrator Mike Boyd, and were mixed on resident’s feelings about the benefits of a new facility. While there was some interest shown in either donating funds or helping with fundraising, the poll was decidedly against using any tax increase to fund the project.
