Council enters into development agreement with Bob Torkelson

The Eagle Grove City Council will enter into a development agreement with Bob Torkelson of Torkelson Properties, LLC following action at this week’s meeting. This is for the property on North Lucas downtown (the old car dealership buiding), which Torkelson would like to renovate into apartments upstairs and retail space on the ground level.

A Community Catalyst Program grant will be pursued to help with this project. According to City Administrator Bryce Davis, the City simply acts as a passthru. “The City is considered the fiscal agent,” said Davis. “We apply for, and receive the funds then distribute them. The project will be completed before the contractor is reimbursed.” Among other things, one of Torkelson’s requirements to receive the funds is to file a renovation plan that is agreeable with City Code.
