Council adopts three new Ordinances

At their November 20 meeting of the Eagle Grove City Council, members took up the third readings of two amendments to the City Code and approved both for them to now go into effect. Also held was the first reading of another new ordinance, with that also then being adopted and put into the book.

First up was the third reading of Ordinance 2017- 08, which amends the Code by adding a chapter on rental inspection and an inspection program. With no one present to speak against it, and Chris Van Jaarsveld stating he had heard no negative comments, Councilperson Mike Weland motioned to approve which was seconded by Councilperson Denny Vandewater. The motion carried. The Council then took up the third reading of Ordinance 2017-09, which amends the Code to add a chapter on property maintenance. This outlines minimum requirements for each property. Weland again motioned to approve, which received a second from Councilperson Wally Lorenzen and carried.
