Cooper receives Excellence in Education Award

Anyone who has lived in Eagle Grove for any amount of time knows that Mickey Cooper has been and continues to be an endless supporter of the Eagle Grove Area School District. From allowing her employees at Eagle Grove Pharmacy to take time off work to volunteer to work with students at the school; to purchasing fundraiser items and/or selling them in the pharmacy; to allowing students interested in the pharmacy field to work with her at the store; to hosting foreign exchange students; to personally overseeing open gyms, Cooper has supported area education.

It is for these, and many other reasons, that Terry Meyer nominated her for the recent UniServ Unit 10 Excellence in Education Award. Each year, the Excellence in Education Award recognizes members of Unit 10, retired members, or community people who have made a “significant contribution to public education.”
