Carnegie Library/Eagle Grove Historical Musem renovations complete

For many current and former residents of our community, the Eagle Grove Historical Museum holds a special place in their hearts - not as a museum, but rather as the Carnegie Library they frequented when they were a kid. Perhaps that’s why so many took a vested interest in seeing the aging building refurbished. Thanks to the effort of many, contributions by individuals, groups, and familes, and years of work, it’s been restored for many more generations to enjoy as a piece of history.

“It was my library when I was a kid,” said Joel Halverson of why he became a Historical Museum board member and worked so hard to see the necessary repairs made.

The project, according to Halverson, was really kick-started when Roger H. and Palmer L. Larson left a large sum of money to the city with specifications it be used for rehab of the Carnegie Library. That was roughly three years ago.
