Cardinals defeat Lady Eagles 56-24

Last Tuesday night in a home game, the Eagle Grove varsity girls basketball team played their final contest before the holiday break and suffered a 56-24 loss to Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (the Thursday game versus West Bend-Mallard was postponed and rescheduled for January 25th).

The Cardinals forced the purple and gold to play catch-up all night, racing out to a 29-10 halftime lead and increasing it to 48-16 going into the fourth. Kenzie Crail and Ari Lyman both finished with five points each, followed by Jordan Kastler at four points and Natalie Vrba at three points. Cali Schultz, Lea Friedl and Hannah Sampson all put in two points each, with Megan Sampson finishing the scoring with one point.
