Brott returns to area as Wright County Conservationist

Brady Brott, 2016 Clarion-Goldfield-Dows graduate, was welcomed to the Wright County Conservation department this past spring.

“I went to Iowa Lakes Community College after high school,” he said.

His AA degree is in Environmental Studies & Natural Resources. He is the son of Carol and John Brott in Clarion.

While he has been employed as a park ranger and part-time naturalist, for less than a year, he is not new to the county work. He worked summers for three years while he was in high school. The county's team’ currently includes Sarah Rueger, Eric Rector, Bruce Lindner, and Jeremiah Feltz.

“Right now, Jeremiah and I both do naturalist things across the county (Jeremiah in Eagle Grove and Belmond; Brady in Clarion, Goldfield, Dows)’ said Brott. “Sometimes we contact schools, libraries, clubs with program ideas. Other times they contact us. It’s cool to do a project which students are interested in.”

Recently he conducted an after school program at the Clarion Public Library looking at owl pellets.
