Bridge reconstruction continues; road maintenance ahead

With several county bridges having weight restrictions, bridge construction is a priority for the engineer’s department, and construction plans reflect those priorities accordingly. Adam Clemons, county engineer, gave the county board of supervisors an update Monday on current and future construction projects, including news on two bridges.

Construction on bridge #77, located on 250th Street in Dayton Township, began in December and was worked on as temperatures allowed throughout the winter and early spring. Clemons reported that it would be done by the end of May, with the final subcontractor starting dirtwork this week. “We should be wrapping up,” he said.
