Board makes change to the school calendar Now no school on December 8

At this past Monday’s meeting of the Eagle Grove Board of Education, directors heard options from Superintendent Jess Toliver on what to do with classes on December 8 when the varsity basketball teams play at Wells Fargo Arena versus Bishop Garrigan. An NBA D-League game will follow.

According to Toliver, there were three options for changing the school calendar. Those include canceling school, have school in session but dismiss high school students at 12:00 noon with the other buildings running on normal schedule or dismiss all buildings at 1:00 p.m. He noted that availability of busses and drivers could be an issue with that option. After some discussion, it was approved to not hold classes on that day.
