Baking up a batch memories

One of Charlotte Lynn’s favorite things to do around the holidays is bake...and it stems back from when she was a child.

Lynn remembers preparing for the holidays by baking up a variety of festive treats with her mother that included peanut brittle, cut out sugar cookies, and coco fudge.

“People don’t make that kind of fudge much anymore,” said Lynn.  “They usually make marshmallow fudge instead.”

But Lynn carried on the tradition of her mother’s fudge, preparing it with her own children as they grew...and the sugar cookies, and several other sweet treats.

“I used to make a lot of candies at Christmas time...including divinity which nobody really makes anymore either,” she said reminiscing back to when her children were at home still.

Divinity and frosted cut-out cookies were their favorite to make.

“We would have frosting all over,” she laughed.
