Author and Eagle Grove native, Bettie Burres Youngs, will be guest speaker at Heartland Museum

Bettie Burres Youngs is an Eagle Grove High School alumnus - Class of 1966. In addition to becoming a teacher, a professor, and a regular on the radio and television circuit (with appearances on such shows as the Phil Donahue Show, Sally Jessy Raphael, Oprah, and CNN, Newsweek, Time, Redbook, and Family Circle). After high school, she also became a Pulitzer-Prize nominated author of more than 25 books translated into more than 28 languages.

Her early stories focused on school and family, but it was her short story books that shot her to success. Youngs will be sharing some of those stories during a special appearance at the Heartland Museum in Clarion (located on the west side of Clarion, south side of Highway 3) on Saturday, June 25 at 2 p.m.
