Anthony Wubben named EG EMS Provider of the Year

The Eagle Grove ambulance crew is a vital part of our community, providing help in times of emergency as well as offering safety assistance during community functions. The volunteers of this department dedicate countless hours every week, month, and year to make sure this vital service is available to not only the citizens of Eagle Grove, but also Woolstock, Goldfield, and the surrounding rural community. In a desire to give recognition to these men and women, the EMS Provider of the Year Award was created in 2018.

In only it’s second year, the 2019 Award was recently presented to Anthony (Tony) Wubben who has called Eagle Grove home for just over three years and has been a member of the Eagle Grove EMS since November of 2017.

“In April of 2017, my father had a heart attack. My mother activated her local EMS unit, who arrived and provided empathy and quality care not only for my father, but to my whole family,” explained Wubben. “Unfortunately, my father did pass away. In honor of my father and the several EMS crew members who provided care for my father, I made it my goal (to join the EMS service) and serve my new community of Eagle Grove in a similar fashion as those did during the loss of my father.”

Wubben began on the service as a driver and worked at advancing his education to become a certified EMT in the Spring of 2019. He has served as an EMT on the service since June 2019.
