4th Annual Zombie Run

While many see Halloween as a time to dress up and have fun, dozens of runners and several organizations took the opportunity this weekend to do more: work to prevent child abuse locally by raising funds for parenting classes through Building Families. (Dressing up and having fun was just a bonus.)

The Fourth Annual Zombie Run took place at the Eagle Grove golf course on Saturday, Oct. 28. Sponsored by Building Families’ Parent Connection program in partnership with the Prevent Child Abuse Iowa (PCAI) Council for Hamilton, Humboldt and Wright Counties, this year the event had two races: a 4:30 p.m. 5K, and a two-mile run that started at 5:30. Even those who walked the course found themselves running through the areas where volunteer “zombies” waited to snatch one of their life flags.
